On November 24, Tokmok gym celebrated its 20th anniversary and during these two decades it has become an important part of lives of many people.
For the first time the opening of the gym took place on October 16, 2004. At that time the gym was just starting its work, nobody could predict exactly what way it would go. But one thing was certain - this project was conceived by God and realized with His help. The gym, based on Christian values, was conceived and built by a believer - Captain Yang. His dream was to create a place where people could develop not only physical strength but also spiritual depth. The main purpose of this place is to bring children to Christ through sports and activities. And for 20 years we have tried to follow this vision. That is why, apart from sports training and competitions, there has always been time for prayer, Bible study and worship of God in the gym.
More than 250 people visited us that day. These were our guests: youth, children and their parents, several pastors and leaders from local churches. David Guan congratulated us on behalf of GLEC, shared the story of Mr. Yang and how the gym was founded. The pastors shared a message from the Bible and talked about the importance of doing spiritual work in places like this. We also heard several testimonies of how attending our gym has changed the lives of young people. How they met Jesus through this ministry and experienced His love. Also on this day there were different activities for guests, dance and music performances.
Today, 20 years later, we realize how great is the role of spiritual work that is conducted within the walls of the complex. This place has become not only a source of physical health, but also a support for many people in their search for a spiritual way. We see how our work has had a huge impact on hundreds of children in Kyrgyzstan. Today we see many of our ministry participants traveling all over the world and continuing to follow Christ through various ministries in different parts of the world.
